Karl Malone played for 18 seasons with the Utah Jazz, winning multiple MVPs, making 11 All-NBA First Teams, and becoming the second-highest scorer in the history of the league. His legacy with the franchise is second to none, he still received a thunderous ovation from the fans in Utah during All-Star Weekend. And the feeling is mutual, with Malone telling the Salt Lake Tribune how much he misses the Jazz as well.

"We’ll see where it goes from here. I miss the Jazz. I don’t need a job — I [just] miss the Jazz,” Malone said. “Where I grew up, where I’m from, respect is huge to me. You give respect, but sometimes you feel slighted. We’ll just see... But I just miss the Jazz."

The Utah Jazz has been in a transitional phase after trading away Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert in the offseason. But they have acquired a slew of first-round picks and developed some excellent talent as well, putting them in a great position. And Malone spoke about how excited he is for the franchise because of that as well.

Karl Malone Spoke Excitedly About The Utah Jazz And How Much He Follows The Team

Although he said he doesn't want a job with the team, it's evident that Malone is incredibly invested in the Jazz still. He spoke in the same interview with The Tribune about following the team and enjoying where they are at the moment.

“[It’s about] how hard they play. And they act like they like each other and want to be with each other. I’m excited to see ‘em. I’ve never ever stopped watching the Jazz — I’ve always followed the Jazz and will continue to follow the Jazz."

He singled out Danny Ainge for some praise as well, comparing his work with the Jazz so far to how he built the current Boston Celtics team. Malone expressed his enthusiasm in terms of seeing how Ainge will handle all the picks at his disposal as well. Whether a large majority of fans like him or not, Karl Malone will continue to follow and be mentioned in the same breath as the Utah Jazz.
