Kyrie Irving has shocked the NBA world once again today by requesting a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. Just when things were going smoothly for the talented point guard and the team, Irving made a shocking decision, rushing the team to make a last-minute trade, or he would leave for nothing in the offseason.

This campaign didn't start the best way for Kyrie and the Nets, as the player was involved in controversy after sharing an antisemite movie on social media, which prompted the team to suspend him and give him a list of conditions to complete before he was reinstated.

After everything happened, Kyrie focused solely on basketball, and he was doing just great, taking a bigger role for the Nets after Kevin Durant went down with an injury, showing that he was ready to carry this team.

However, just when everything appeared to be good for this team, Kyrie surprised everybody and is now demanding a trade before the upcoming deadline. According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, Kyrie made this decision after he and the Nets were unable to come to terms on a new contract.

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has requested a trade, league sources tell. This comes in aftermath of sides unable to get an extension done.

This is really shocking, considering how well this partnership was working this season. However, Kyrie is one of the most unpredictable stars in the NBA and this is proof of that.

This situation sparks more questions, especially surrounding Kevin Durant, who many think would leave the Nets if Kyrie isn't by his side anymore. The Brooklynites lived in a similar situation with KD last year, but they had more years on Durant's contract, which isn't the case here. Just when things appeared to be great for the Nets, they have another disaster coming...
