Brandon Jennings explained why Ja Morant is receiving such heavy backlash for his recent actions.

Ja Morant is on his way to making a return to the court after a tough few weeks surrounded by controversy.

Morant was suspended for 8 games for showing a gun on Instagram live, which has led to a media circus around the 22-year-old. Brandon Jennings has dissected it down to people being jealous of Morant.

“Jealousy, I think it's jealousy. He is young, he is black, he is making a lot of money, and everybody likes him. I think it's just jealousy, too. They're always trying to find something. so they're just going to nitpick now. They're going to keep trying to find different things.”

Morant has most definitely achieved a lot more before the age of 22 than most of his detractors have. A lot of criticism was valid but it has been in extremely public forums, like athletes tweeting or even the Daily Show poking fun at the situation.

Ja was in the wrong and unquestionably made a series of bad judgment calls, but there are athletes that have been treated with far more leniency for way worse issues.
