With the worst of it behind him, star point guard Ja Morant is finally starting to move on from the infamous Instagram Live incident that resulted in an 8-game suspension from the NBA.

But as Ja ramps up to return for the home stretch of the regular season, he has made the wise decision to stay away from social media and resist hosting any more live sessions with his fans.

“I won’t be doing that at all," Morant said, via Landon Buford. "Me saying things, actions speak louder than words. That’s my main focus right now. Obviously super excited to be back with my teammates.”

For Morant's supporters, it's obviously sad that he won't be expressing himself online, but it's probably the best thing he could do at this point.

With the Grizzlies reeling, Morant needs to return to a distraction-free environment, and staying off social media eliminates the possibility of creating a new scandal.

Still, it's likely that Ja will need to do more than look away from Instagram if he wants to salvage this season for the Grizzlies.

Grizzlies Can Still Compete For A Title This Season

Despite all the chaos and injuries, the Grizzlies are still in a solid position to take the West. With Morant and Steven Adams set to return soon, they can take full advantage of their 2nd-seeded placement and win some rounds in the Western bracket.

Thanks to the NBA's soft ruling, and the circumstances of Morant's incident, things did not end up as bad as they could have for Memphis.

"There's a sense around the Memphis Grizzlies team and Ja Morant that they are fortunate," said ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. "In many, many ways, this situation could have been much worse. Essentially, Ja Morant is going to be back on the court when he's ready to be back on the court."

The Grizzlies are facing some steep competition and overwhelming odds, but they must be feeling pretty good about where they stand right now.

Of course, only time will tell how they perform in the playoffs -- but with Ja focused and 100 percent, it's hard not to see this team making some real noise when it counts.
