Kendrick Perkins' latest sizzling take was that Jayson Tatum is on the same level as Milwaukee Bucks' superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

"I believe Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player in the world," Perkins said on ESPN's First Take. "But it's not by far. You have multiple guys that are sitting at the same dinner table ordering the same entrées as Giannis, and Jayson Tatum is one of them."

"When I am talking about Jayson Tatum, think about what he is. A complete package capable of locking down at the other end, and plays 1-to-5," Perkins added. "He has zero flaws. To take it a step further, he plays for one of the most historical franchises in sports history."

Perkins' comments come on the back of the Celtics clobbering the Bucks 140-99. Tatum dropped 40 points, while Giannis had 24 to his name. That though doesn't necessarily serve as the major factor when it comes to a comparison between the two players.

On his part, the Bucks superstar was ready to acknowledge that Boston outplayed his side. “Know what the deal is? It’s not hard to understand,” he said, via Heavy

“If you you’re not focused. If you don’t play hard, they’re gonna kick ass, simple as that. They did it tonight and won by 40. If you’re not locked in, if you don’t play hard, and if don’t go out there to make it tough for them, they’re gonna kick out ass. Simple as that."

The numbers see Giannis average 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. Tatum isn't far behind with 30.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. Both players are placed at No.3 and No. 4 in the league's latest MVP rankings.

As far as the matchup goes, Tatum expects to meet Milwaukee in the playoffs, and that would be where it's interesting to see if Perkins' bold claim comes true.

The Milwaukee Bucks And The Boston Celtics Have Been The Teams To Beat This Season

The Celtics and the Bucks have established themselves as the teams to beat this season, considering the level they are playing at. The latter are placed first in the East with a 55-22 record, while Boston is second with 53-24.

That said, the Celtics are gunning for the first seed, and another couple of losses for the Bucks could mean that they would end up facing their familiar foes, and an added test in the formidable Philadelphia 76ers led by Joel Embiid and James Harden.

Both teams are labeled as bonafide title contenders, and they are thoroughly deserving of the tag. It remains to be seen if these two stars can lead their teams to the promised land.
