If not for the fact that Cleveland Cavaliers were rivals with the Indiana Pacers, Paul George, and LeBron James would have then played for the Cavaliers. This had NBA fans sharing their two cents on the news.

The LA Clippers star made the startling revelation on his latest episode of Podcast P."I thought I was going to go to Cleveland,” George explained. “Cleveland was like close to getting me with [LeBron] there. Not a lot of people know that… [I’m] chopping it up with Bron like, ‘Yo, how can we make this work?’

He further added, "It fell through because Cleveland and Indiana are in the same division so Indy was like, 'We’re not going to trade him to our division.'" George also added that the Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, and Boston Celtics were the other options on the table.

The guard was eventually traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. In his two seasons with OKC, he averaged 25.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.

Needless to say, fans had all kinds of opinions when they heard of the possible team-up between George and James.

While some felt it would have been one solid superteam, some were of the opinion that the partnership would have never panned out. "I remember this rumor. Bron, Kyrie, and PG would have been something special," a tweet read.

This was seconded by another fan. "I remember this. Twitter did talk about Cleveland and Toronto at the time. And OKC was so random and out of nowhere. Glad to hear it from PG's perspective."

Another fan believed the Heat should have been involved in the talks for George.

One of the fans had a theory as well.

It's no surprise that the Cavaliers were interested in a trade for George and had even tentatively agreed to be part of a three-team deal with the Denver Nuggets.

All that said, it's still wishful thinking to see how things would have panned out if James and George shared the floor together.
