The Golden State Warriors may be struggling now, but there is no question that they've been one of the most successful franchises in modern NBA history.

While the ascension of Stephen Curry made things easy for the Dubs, GM Bob Myers has to be given credit for building a championship roster around him.

As Myers faces doubts about his future, with the end of his contract on the horizon, two prominent members of the team voiced their support for the GM and explained why they want to see him stick around for years to come.

"We were all young at one point when we were trying to figure it out,” Curry said on a recent NBC Sports Bay Area “Dubs Talk” podcast. “One of his special abilities is to connect with you where you are. Be truthful and honest, and authentic about how difficult the NBA is in the sense of decisions that are made and the business side of it. But also, he has a personal touch that you trust. I don’t ever take that for granted... The fact that I can have a difficult conversation with him. I can pick up the phone and let him know how I’m feeling. He’ll give it to me straight around where we are as a team or where I am individually.”

Myers seems to have a special bond with his players that allows them to speak openly and honestly about the situation.

For Draymond, it's Bob's relentless work ethic that he admires the most.

“Bob is huge for us,” Green told NBC Sports Bay Area. “Some GMs put a team together and then they go into their office and watch to see if it works. You don’t see many GMs working daily, having conversations with guys, keeping a pulse of the team, and then having those tough conversations. General managers don’t do that in this league."

What's Next For The Warriors?

Whether or not Myers stays or goes, the Warriors have some issues to work out. Despite winning the title a year ago, Golden State has looked lethargic and highly inconsistent lately, with a road-home split that you'd have to see to believe (7-26 outside of the Bay).

Still, as long as Curry is healthy and playing like the superstar we know him to be, the Warriors cannot be counted out. As winners of four titles in less than a decade, they have more than earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their regular-season performance.
