James Harden Takes A Shot At Haters For Saying He Quit On The Nets

James Harden talked his talk about the people that spoke negatively about his departure from the Brooklyn Nets.

When James Harden joined Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the Brooklyn Nets, many thought that multiple championships were a guarantee. However, the trade didn't pan out and Harden instead requested to leave after a year, ending up with the Philadelphia 76ers.

As James Harden gears up to take on the Brooklyn Nets in the playoffs, the topic of his abrupt departure has come up. At the time, a lot of people criticized him for seemingly quitting the team. And Harden has given those people a resounding answer.

“I don’t really wanna go into that, but there were a lot of internal things going on,” Harden said at practice on Friday, as per SixersWire. “It was one of the reasons why I made my decision and everybody talked down on me and gave me negative feedback or whatever you wanna call it, but now, fast forward to today, nobody’s saying like ‘Oh, James was smart’ or ‘James knew what he was doing’.”

Many people called Harden out for requesting a move away from the organization. Tracy McGrady was among them, asking what Harden was implying with his comments about leaving Brooklyn. Even players that were on the roster at the time like Bruce Brown took shots at him. Despite this, it seems Harden is ready to forgive and forget.

James Harden Has No Ill Feelings Towards The Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are also no longer in Brooklyn, and an entirely different team to the one he was a part of will compete against Harden's Sixers in the first round. And when he addressed the haters that criticized his move, he also made it clear that he has no animosity toward the franchise itself.

“I don’t want credit, but I’m happy where they are now,” he said in the same interview. “Best of luck to those guys and Joe Tsai and that organization. They turned what they had into something really good. They’re in the playoffs and nothing but great talk about those guys in the organization.”

The Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets are facing off in Game 1 on Saturday, and the series is highly anticipated. James Harden and Joel Embiid are expected to lead their team to victory, but the new-look Nets cannot be counted out. It promises to be an exciting series, and Harden will surely want to show out against his old team.
