D'Angelo Russell Hilariously Tried To Sneak His Coco5 Into The Press Conference Again: "Not This Time"

D'Angelo Russell has blossomed into a star again following his return to the Los Angeles Lakers. The guard has made all the difference in key moments during the playoffs and has been crucial in ensuring that they make it to the Conference Finals.

And while there is a lot of basketball talk to be done, he tried having some fun at the press conference after the Lakers torched the Warriors in Game 6. After a previous incident involving promoting one of his partners, Coco5, Russell tried to do it again.

Russell snuck the bottle onto the stage and kept it on the table before it was taken away. Later, while leaving, he said, "Coco5," much to the amusement of everyone in the room. Russell is both committed and hilarious.

It says something about how good the Lakers locker room is facing that D'Angelo was able to have fun like this following the conclusion of an intense series. The leaders are clearly keeping the pressure off of the other players, and the Lakers have given themselves a brilliant chance of making it to the NBA Finals and maybe even winning.

D'Angelo Russell Said He Would Promote His Drink Even If It Led To A Fine

This has been an interesting undercurrent to the more serious playoff stuff that's been going on. In a press conference earlier in the season, Russell was asked to put the drink down as it's not partners with the NBA or the Lakers, resulting in a hilarious response from him

Staffer: "That drink put it down."

Russell: "Why?"

Staffer: "Because it's not one of our partners."

Russell: "What partners? It's my partner. You gon' have to fine me. Coco5."

Russell is averaging over 15 points per game for the Lakers in the playoffs this season, shooting it with decent efficiency. He has stepped up in moments and put up 30-point performances as well. It's been going so well for him that it seems inevitable that he will re-sign with the Lakers.

As long as he keeps up his performance, the Lakers won't mind what Russell gets up to during press conferences. He is an interesting character in a cast of Lakers that are lending this team a personality that is ensuring success. If the championships come, then Russell can rest assured that Coco5 will become all the rage in Los Angeles.
