Gregg Popovich Traveled To France To Meet Victor Wembanyama After Draft Lottery

The San Antonio Spurs literally hit the lottery on Tuesday night as they were rewarded the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. The Texan team was one of the three with the highest chances to land this pick and ultimately won, making a lot of people around the NBA mad.

It didn't matter since they're now able to put their hands on Wembanyama, one of the most hyped prospects in NBA history. Everybody within the organization is excited about this, and Gregg Popovich had the ultimate reaction to this. According to Tom Petrini (via Legion Hoops), Pop traveled to France to meet Wemby.

If people needed more hints to know that the Spurs are all-in on Wembanyama, Popovich himself traveled to the European country to meet the player before the team officially announces they're drafting Wemby in the upcoming draft.

The Spurs have a lot of history of drafting and developing talented big men. From David Robinson to Tim Duncan, this team has maximized their talent, making them NBA champions and big legends of the game.

Popovich expects to do the same with Wembanyama, who is carrying big expectations entering the league. The Spurs have something great in their hands, and with the right directions, they can create another dynasty for the next 20 years.

Victor Wembanyama Is Ready To Join The Spurs And Win A Championship

Wembanyama knows he's a sought-after prospect and is ready to make an immediate impact on the league. The player immediately revealed his plans in the league, warning the rest of the league about his desire to win a championship as soon as possible.

This can be a very successful partnership, and things appear to be going well already. Some say the Spurs were given this pick by the NBA since they're the perfect place for Wembanyama. The Frenchman also knows that, and he's excited to establish himself as a superstar in the NBA.
