Undrafted Prospect Kenneth Lofton Destroys Victor Wembanyama In Two Possessions

Victor Wembanyama is the flavor of the week ever since the San Antonio Spurs won the lottery pick, but as many fans as he's earned over the last few months due to his play, he's also had some exposing his potential weaknesses.

One of them was a fan who posted a clip of undrafted prospect Kenneth Lofton getting the better of Wembanyama in two possessions.

For those unaware, Lofton went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft. He later signed a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2022 and made his debut last October in the team's loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

The forward also bagged the NBA G League Rookie of the Year Award and was subsequently awarded a multi-year NBA contract by the Grizzlies. The clip of him taking on Wembanyama shows his skills and fortitude as a player, making it all the easier to see why Memphis decided to acquire his services.

That said, Wembanyama is still a force, and his athleticism and style of play have seen him rightly labeled as the generational superstar. So, if he does indeed have some chinks, there is no doubt that he will learn, adding more repertoire to his game.

Former Spurs Star Sean Elliot Believes Victor Wembanyama Can Become The GOAT

While it's still early days, Wembanyama's support has still seen a meteoric rise with former players and analysts billing him as a solid talent. One of them was San Antonio's former star Sean Elliot who had rich praise for the French star.

“He has the potential to be the best player of all time," Elliot said on SiriusXM when talking about Wembanyama.

The Spurs have a superb history of developing big men, and the prime examples are David Robinson and Tim Duncan who have gone on to become franchise legends and perfect all-time players. Perhaps they can do the same for Wembanyama.

There is time for him to become a well-rounded player, but as far as praise goes, only time will tell if he can live up to all the hype surrounding him.
