Austin Reaves Signs Seven-Figure Deal With Chinese Brand Rigorer

Even though the 2023 NBA season didn't end the best way for Austin Reaves and his Los Angeles Lakers, the young guard keeps winning off the court and earlier today made a big announcement.

Reaves sat down with NBA insider Shams Charania to discuss his upcoming signature sneaker, the "AR1", which will come under the Rigorer brand. This is a big business move and the player, who reportedly signed a seven-figure deal with the Asian company.

"If you would have told me I'd have had a signature shoe at 18, I'd have looked at you and called you a liar," the 25-year-old guard told Charania.

"Honestly, I'm blessed to play basketball for a living and I just have to pinch myself sometimes to really understand what's going on."

Sneaker specialist Nick DePaula shared images of the upcoming release, which will be in Lakers colors in August.

Reaves' career hasn't been the easiest one, as he had to prove his value to be where he is right now. After a rookie season full of ups and downs, he improved his level this campaign and helped the Los Angeles Lakers make it to the playoffs and go to the Western Conference Finals.

They couldn't win a single game against the Denver Nuggets, but Reaves showed why he's so valuable for this franchise. In 16 games, Reaves posted 16.9 points, 4.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds for the Purple and Gold.

He went off in the first two rounds, dominating the Memphis Grizzlies and then showing he's not afraid of the big moments against the Golden State Warriors. He's become a beloved figure for Lakers fans, and the team wants to keep him on the roster for as long as possible.

Austin Reaves Could Sign A Big Deal In Free Agency This Offseason

However, the rest of the NBA is watching this situation closely, as Reaves has proven he can be a great player coming off the bench. Austin has been linked with a series of teams in the past couple of weeks.

From the San Antonio Spurs to the Houston Rockets, Reaves appear to have a good market during free agency. The Lakers have made their priority to keep him and Rui Hachimura on the roster, but Reaves could demand more attention from the 17-time NBA champions.

So much so that the Lakers are set to match every $100 million offer Reaves receive in free agency. This player went from being unnoticed and heavily underrated to being one of the hottest free agents in the NBA.

The Lakers already know the things Reaves brings to the table, and other squads will be interested in acquiring his services to improve their level.
