Bruce Brown Brutally Honest On His Future With Nuggets: "Money Is Not Everything.
The Denver Nuggets just won the 2023 NBA championship and are ready to keep competing and winning titles for many years.
It will all depend on if they can keep their core together. Bruce Brown is the biggest source of concern for the Nuggets this offseason, as the player can become a free agent and leave the team. However, Brown made a big revelation, stating that he wants to stay in Denver.
“I want to stay,” Brown told Mike Singer of The Denver Post.
“Look at us,” he said. “Celebrating the Finals, winning the Finals. This is what you come to the NBA for, to win at the highest level.”
With the Nuggets being able to only offer him $7.7 million if he opts out of his player option, Brown can make things hard for his team to keep his services. However, he doesn't think that money is everything and wants to run it back with the Nuggets.
“It’s a perfect fit,” Brown said. “And money is not everything. The money will come. So I’m not worried about that right now.”
Brown became a key figure for the Nuggets in their championship run. He dropped 21 in Game 4 against the Miami Heat to give the Nuggets a commanding 3-1 lead in the Finals.
During the entire postseason, he showed up when his team needed him and those good performances will certainly grant him a big contract this offseason. However, the Nuggets won't be able to grant his big demands and will offer him a modest deal to continue their partnership.
According to Brown himself, winning is more important than money, which gives a lot of hope to Nuggets fans. Brown has a $6.8 million player option that can be activated this summer to run it back next season.
Bruce Brown Accused Nikola Jokic Of Getting Him Drunk In Las Vegas
He may still have some things to work out before announcing his decision. The versatile player accused his teammate Nikola Jokic is getting him drunk and hungover in Las Vegas after the team went to Sin City to continue the championship celebrations.
The Nuggets can keep their core intact ahead of the 2023-24 season, and if they do so, it'll be interesting to see which team will have realistic chances to take them out as the NBA champions.
