Mikal Bridges Praises Damian Lillard Amid Trade Rumors: "Wherever He Goes... He's Gonna Make An Impact"

Damian Lillard leaving Portland has been talked about so much in recent years, but at no point has it felt as realistic an option as it does this offseason. Dame isn't happy with the Blazers choosing to use the No. 3 overall pick, and a move could be imminent.

After his latest posts on social media as well as other rumors, a move to the Miami Heat seems like a possibility. There are other options though, and Mikal Bridges, a player that was supposedly a prospective teammate of Lillard's, has now praised him.

“Dame is Dame, everyone knows what he does and what he can do,” Bridges told The New York Post. “He’s an unbelievable leader, unbelievable player. Everybody in the world knows that. He’d be key for anybody, any team he goes to. He’s one of the Top 75 already, an unbelievable player. So wherever he goes, if he does go, he’s gonna make an impact.”

The Portland Trail Blazers were supposedly looking at Bridges as a running mate for Lillard when the plan seemed to be to get him more immediate help. Now with Scoot Henderson in the picture, the situation in Portland seems a lot more complicated. If Dame is available, Bridges won't be the only NBA star singing his praises in the hopes of recruiting him to their team.

Communication Between Damian Lillard And The Blazers Has Apparently Broken Down

Damian Lillard is currently contemplating his future moves, the plans will become apparent once the madness of free agency gets underway. But until then, it seems that even the Blazers aren't privy to his thoughts. Per reports, Lillard has not communicated with his team since the decisions they made on draft night

"Damian Lillard has not had any recent communication with the Portland Trail Blazers involving the draft, free agency, or his future, league sources tell NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report."

Lillard is one of the best shooters the game has ever seen, a scoring machine, and an elite clutch player. As he moves closer to the end of his prime, the noise around his situation will only grow louder. It feels like a watershed offseason for Lillard and the Blazers, if he is to make a move, then now would be the time to do it.
