Nikola Jovic Made The NBA Finals Before He Graduated From High School

Nikola Jovic is living the dream of many basketball fans around the world, playing in the NBA Finals at a young age, set to become a champion even before he graduates from high school.

This was a famous topic around the league when Jovic was first drafted by the Miami Heat. He vowed to attend the rest of his classes via Zoom while he played for the Heat, but there was a big problem.

Jovic needs to go back to Serbia to finish his classes and take his final exams in person, which has become a problem for him. He has stayed the entire season with the Miami Heat, unable to go back to his country to take these tests or represent his national team

"To put it in perspective,” Erik Spoelstra said in October, via Inside the Heat. “He's still waiting to do his final exam to graduate from high school, and doing that over Zoom."

He's now set to go back to Serbia to complete this, which is a big commitment for his mother.

"I didn't have time [to take the exam] -- especially because of the time difference," Jovic said. "Yeah. At that moment, I would say [the workouts were more important]. She wanted me to finish school. But I was like, 'Mom!'"

It's really curious that a player is about to be a part of the NBA Finals and is yet to graduate from high school. Jovic is seen as a future star in Miami, and they're trying to guide him step by step to develop his game and make him a threat to the rest of the NBA.

Nikola Jovic Is Yet To Complete His Final Exams Before Getting His High School Diploma

Back in March, Ira Winderman revealed that Jovic needs to go to his country to take the exams and finish his high school tenure, but being an NBA player isn't an easy job, and he decided to stay with his team.

If he becomes an NBA champion before he graduates from high school, Jovic would make history, probably. He's only partaken in five games during the 2023 NBA Playoffs, averaging 0.4 points and 0.8 rebounds in 2.2 minutes per game with the Heat. These numbers are anything but flattering, but if the Heat shock the world and win this championship, he'll be an NBA champion regardless.
