Skip Bayless Boldly Predicts Gregg Popovich Will Start Beefing With Victor Wembanyama

The San Antonio Spurs got a big player in Victor Wembanyama, who's expected by many to dominate and mark an era in the NBA. The Frenchman just became the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and people are already creating controversies about him.

While one analyst believes the overhyped prospect will join the Los Angeles Lakers in the next five years, Skip Bayless is confident that Gregg Popovich will create a feud with the young player, which could prompt him to leave the franchise.

"Gregg Popovich isn't going to like it that he's now the second biggest star in San Antonio. He will soon make it tough on Wemby, break the kid down so he (Pop) can take credit for building him back up. Hope Wemby doesn't go Kawhi on Pop and say, 'Enough of this.'"

Besides Kawhi Leonard and all the factors and people that may or may have not influenced his decision to ask out of San Antonio, Popovich isn't known for pushing his players to leave the franchise.

Although Stephen Jackson would like a word, the Spurs are vastly considered a model franchise, given how they manage their stars, and how they keep things as clean as possible, focusing only on developing these prospects into the best possible players.

They have a huge opportunity to start a new dynasty with Wembanyama and Pop won't mess it up. This is a match made in heaven, and according to all parties involved, they can't wait to start working together.

Popovich Can't Be Happier About Coaching Wembanyama

While Wemby has shared his excitement for the Spurs ever since the draft lottery, his new head coach was all smiles after the Spurs officialized their draft selection this past Thursday.

The Spurs got a great one once again. This kid can do great things not only for them but the entire NBA. The hype around Wembanyama is through the roof, and he doesn't seem to be pressured by that.

The Summer League will give us a little taste of how he'd match up against NBA players, and we can't wait to see him showcasing his talents in Las Vegas next month.
