Luka Doncic, Other NBA Stars Spotted Dancing At World Cup After Party

  • Top NBA stars come together in final offseason celebration
  • World Cup finalists party in the club after beating Team USA
  • Fans are feeling uneasy on the future of USA Basketball

With a new NBA season looming on the horizon, teams and players across the association are getting ready to restart the grind. Before the action officially begins, however, one more party session is in the works.

On Sunday, following the end of the World Cup (that saw Germany take home the Gold), photos and videos began to surface of various NBA stars partying it up with their peers in a nightclub. Luka Doncic was among the first ones spotted, seen in the same club as Team Canada while they were celebrating the victory.

Slovenia was obviously not among the finalists this year, so it seems like Doncic got a personal invitation to the club and he was having the time of his life. Not long after the Doncic sighting, other top NBA athletes poured in, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and even former Knicks star Carmelo Anthony.

It's quite common for stars to hang out in the offseason, especially during the last stretch of summer before training camp kicks off. In this case, there's no harm in these guys hanging out for some fun after a hard-fought World Cup tournament.

Still, some NBA fans (and players) are feeling salty about how the World Cup ended this year. Team USA failed to fall in the top three and it's leaving a sour taste in the mouths of many in the basketball world.

What Did We Learn From FIBA This Year?

With NBA stars enjoying the afterparty, the discourse in the basketball community has gotten borderline toxic. After Team USA's shocking defeat in the Semifinals, it's clear to see that the balance of power is starting to shift away from the USA and spread out to all corners of the globe.

This year, Team USA looked more than beatable -- they looked vulnerable. Despite assembling a solid roster with Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, and Austin Reaves, it wasn't nearly good enough in the end and fans are calling for more participation from the game's ultimate superstars.

Sadly, nobody knows what the roster will look like next time, or even for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, but the level of urgency has certainly changed in the NBA community and concern is rising for the future.

What's Next For Team USA?

With the 2023 World Cup officially in the books now, Team USA is likely already preparing for next year. After Germany's strong showing in the tournament this year, it was evident that the US is no longer ahead of the world when it comes to the game of basketball.

The only proper way to respond is to change the recruiting process entirely and avoid using up precious roster spots on role players like Josh Hart and Bobby Portis. For the USA to reclaim its place at the top, it will need help from LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and the generation's past.

For now, however, the party will roll on in Europe as Team Germany and its friends celebrate a massive achievement.
