NBA Fans Choose One Player To Cut Between Tracy McGrady, Jimmy Butler, Paul George, And Carmelo Anthony

  • A social media post asked who NBA fans would cut between Tracy McGrady, Jimmy Butler, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony
  • The post was specific to their times with the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, and New York Knicks specifically
  • NBA fans got into a heated debate about which of these players deserves to be left out

There is a constant debate about which NBA players are better than others, fans can never seem to reach a consensus about it. And while the GOAT debates and the best point guard debates are one thing, there are more niche discussions that fans have.

A social media post asking which player fans would choose to cut between Tracy McGrady during his time with Orlando, Jimmy Butler during his time in Miami, Oklahoma City Thunder Paul George, and Knicks Carmelo Anthony went viral.

Jimmy Butler has led the Miami Heat to two NBA Finals, something none of these other players even did once as one fan pointed out.

Jimmy Butler's numbers have been less than stellar during his time with the Miami Heat, so one fan had the exact opposite opinion.

While other fans were basing their takes on simply their memories of watching all these players play, another fan posted a comprehensive statistical comparison.

Tracy McGrady may have never seen too much mainstream award or team success, but he was simply different from the Orlando Magic. Another fan pointed that out.

Simply put, this is a near-impossible choice to make, although it's not going to be Tracy McGrady or Jimmy Butler being left out. These debates are always fun because they show where the biases and preferences of fans lie at times.

Tracy McGrady And Paul George Were MVP Candidates During Those Stints

Tracy McGrady and Paul George are probably not going to be rated as highly as Jimmy Butler is after having gone to the NBA Finals once again. But individually, they were light years ahead of the rest during their stints.

Tracy McGrady finished 4th in MVP voting during the 2002-03 NBA season when he was with the Orlando Magic. He averaged 32.1 points per game and led the league in scoring.

Paul George during his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, finished third in MVP voting during the 2018-19 season. He was the ultimate complete player that year, averaging 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.

Those two come out on top in this conversation, there's no way they would get cut.

Orlando Magic Tracy McGrady Could Have Become One Of The Greatest Ever

During his time with the Orlando Magic, Tracy McGrady was considered to be one of the league's biggest stars. He won scoring titles and made it to the All-NBA First Team. And he almost had a dynasty too, if not for a failed Tim Duncan trade

"Once I found out what happened with the Tim Duncan situation… I still haven’t had that conversation with Doc. Its speculation. He wouldn’t allow Tim Duncan, I guess he wanted his spouse to travel on the plane, to come to games on the road.

"Doc wouldn’t allow that, so that was a dealbreaker for him. That’s what I heard, that was the dealbreaker. That could have change my life… That could have been a game changer in a lot of people’s lives."

Tracy McGrady remains one of the biggest what-ifs in NBA history. While all the other players here are legendary in their own right, no one really comes close to him.
