With all the talk now being of this incredible team that the U.S. is set to field at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Shaquille O'Neal shared a very interesting graphic on Instagram. The 51-year-old put out a potential World superteam to take on Team USA and admitted he doesn't know who'd win.

We'll, in all likelihood, see this U.S. squad next year, as LeBron James is reportedly ready to create this Team USA superteam with Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. He has also spoken to Anthony Davis and Jayson Tatum, and all five men are ready to commit, as per the report.

Considering how ridiculously strong that starting five is for Team USA, the only way to have one in the same ballpark, talent-wise, was to put together a World superteam. It is really hard to say who would win in this potential clash of titans.

NBA Fans Debate Which Team Would Win

O'Neal asked NBA fans who would win this potential clash. The question unsurprisingly split opinion, with arguments being made for why one side would crush the other.

One backed Team World to win easily, "Team World easy every day and twice on Sunday."

Having Stephen Curry and LeBron James on the same team makes this an easy choice for one fan, "USA easy, Steph and Bron is overpowered."

A fan is going with Team World as their players have won the last five MVP awards, "Look at the last 5 MVPs and you'll know the answer."

One made the case for why Team USA would win, "Who's picking up Curry at half-court? Also, if you pick up Curry at half-court, then what are you doing with LeBron and KD? Team USA for the win!"

A fan thinks Team World would blow out the U.S., "Team World by 30."

If you just look at the players, Team World has the edge. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Joel Embiid have won the last five MVPs. Luka Doncic would be one of the favorites to win it this upcoming season, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander could be in the mix as well.

They would also have a big advantage on the glass, but that's also where the problem comes in. Neither Jokic nor Embiid can play at the four, and one of the two would routinely get roasted on defense. On offense, the big issue is that Antetokounmpo, Embiid, and Doncic are all very ball-dominant players.

They were the top three for usage rate in 2022-23 among players who played more than two games, as per the NBA, and are really not used to playing without the ball. So, while they might be better when you just compare the players, I just like the fit better for Team USA.

We Need This Format At The All-Star Game

For a while now, we have had fans yearning for this format to be used at the All-Star game. It is no longer a situation where there are just 2-3 notable international players, and you can actually put together a great starting five as we saw here.

The current format just isn't working anymore, as the 2023 All-Star Game was the lowest-rated and least-watched edition in history. You can't say if it ain't broke, don't fix it, because it clearly is broken.

Commissioner Adam Silver explained, though, why a USA vs. World All-Star Game might not be fair at the moment. It has nothing to do with the lack of talent or anything along those lines for Team World.

Silver explained that the pool of international players is smaller than the U.S. one. You'd be picking one roster from like 25% of the player base and the other from 75%.  It wouldn't be right for the American-born ones, and it is a fair point. Something has to be done to fix the game, though, and I don't see another good solution.
