Jadakiss Says What You Wear Determines How Many Words Michael Jordan Will Speak To You

Hip hop icon Jadakiss met Michael Jordan for the first time at a Floyd Mayweather fight in Portland in 2005, and he made an interesting discovery back then. On the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, the 48-year-old said what you wear determines how many words Jordan will speak to you.

"What you got on determines how many words you gonna get from him," Jadakiss said. "If you got one of the competitors on, he might just give you a elbow or head. If you don't got Jordan brand or Nike on you — Nike still might get you like a short sentence... If he see the symbol (Jordan Brand), your conversation can be a little bit more extensive."

(starts at 1:03:54 mark):

The rapper revealed he was dressed in Jordan gear, which led to a rather pleasant conversation, as Jordan told him, "You look good, boy." The Chicago Bulls icon also asked him what he wanted and when Jadakiss said everything, he informed one of his associates to ensure the rapper got everything. Jadakiss says that since then, the boxes with Jordan gear have not stopped coming to his house.

So folks, if you want to make a good first impression, make sure you have some Jordan gear on you when you meet him. You do wonder just how differently that first meeting would have gone, had Jadakiss worn Adidas or Puma gear.

Scottie Pippen On Jordan's Reaction If Someone Wasn't Wearing His Shoes

While NBA players certainly take their shoes seriously, no one even today has taken it quite to the level that the Bulls icon did. His former teammate Scottie Pippen revealed what Jordan's reaction would be if someone wasn't wearing his shoes.

"He wouldn't sign an autograph for you, he wouldn't even look at you, and you definitely weren't coming inside his house. It was all about Nike and eventually Brand Jordan. I fully understand."

Well, I think that might answer what would have happened had Jadakiss worn gear from some other brand. Pippen wasn't really exaggerating by any means when he said that either, as Jordan once refused to take a picture with a kid until he took off his Reebok shoes.

Tim Thomas Revealed How Jordan Forced Him To Wear Nike At His House

Getting back to Pippen's point about not being allowed inside Jordan's house if you wear a rival company's gear, former NBA player Tim Thomas can attest to that. Thomas shared how Jordan forced him as an Adidas athlete to wear Nike at his house.

"But I was an Adidas athlete, so I walk in MJ's house, I got all Adidas gear on," Thomas said. "So, MJ stopped me at the door, 'Hey oh, you gotta take that off.' So, they basically stripped me down and put me in all Nike gear. So, when I end up leaving MJ's house, the funny thing was all my Adidas gear was packed up in the bag sitting outside. He didn't even want to leave the gear inside."

Just yet another example of how seriously he took these things. Thomas had just finished his rookie season at the time and while many stars wouldn't have bothered about something like this, Jordan did. It was all about Nike for him and his partnership with the brand, which began in 1984, has indeed become one of the most successful ones in history.
