Draymond Green: “I Won’t Throw Anybody Under The Bus, I’m Talking About One Superstar, I’ve Never Seen Him Out Of Shape. He’s So Out Of Shape Right Now. With The Bubble And Everything… It’s Been A Very Tough Season, I Think A Lot Of Guys Are Struggling With It.”

Draymond Green isn’t only a great basketball player but he’s also one of the smartest people in the league and he’s demonstrating that whenever he’s had the chance. The Golden State Warriors star is not shy when it comes to speaking his mind and when he sees something odd, he’ll say it.

This NBA season has seen some weird things from teams not competing as they did last year and players who let themselves go during the offseason and are still trying to get in shape after three months of competition. Green recently talked about that and stated that a lot of players are having a difficult time now given all the things happening in the outside world; this is happening since the bubble and the trend is continuing this season.

During a recent interview, he used one “superstar” to prove his point, explaining how hard has been for everybody to be 100% focused on the job they have right now.

“I won’t throw anybody under the bus, but I’m talking about one superstar particularly who I’ve never seen him out of shape. He’s so out of shape right now. It’s not Luka (Doncic) or James Harden but I’ve never seen this guy out of shape and actually when we played, he was like ‘man, the bubble’ like sh*t’s been hard and I completely understand that. It’s brutal. This season has been extremely tough. An NBA day normally is like maybe four to six hours; every day right now is like 10 to 12 hours.”

People are wondering who that could be and NBA Reddit guessed he was talking about Anthony Davis, who hasn’t had the best season so far. The Brow comes from winning his first NBA title with the Lakers and this campaign, when he was expected to take some pressure off LeBron James’ shoulders, it’s been the other way around.

Draymond explained that the protocols and the restrictions this season make things a lot harder. In the bubble, you knew you couldn’t go anywhere but now you’re home, you’re traveling and even on the road, you can’t go anywhere. To make things worse, even on your days off, you need to go to the facility to get tested, which he says is “mentally exhausting” for players.

“Normally, I would take like a day trip to Aspen, or do different things like that, a day trip to L.A. to kind of clean your mind and get a release. You don’t have those releases now, you can’t take a day trip, you can’t get away. Even on off days, you have to go to the facility and test. And so even just seeing that facility, although you don’t even go there to work out, you’re driving to that facility every day mentally, is exhausting. It’s been a very tough season, to say the least, and I think a lot of guys are struggling with it,” Green added.

AD has everything to turn things around. Other players actually could get in shape before and he definitely can, too. Still, this is only speculation; the short NBA turnaround changed the plans for a lot of people and Green could have been talking about anybody else.
