Kevin O’Connor Says He’d Take LaMelo Ball Over Trae Young And Ja Morant
LaMelo Ball has been one of the biggest names in this rookie class. LaMelo Ball is an elite playmaker who dazzles fans every night with the way he can pass the ball. He is flashy but fundamentally sound and makes the right play more often than not. LaMelo Ball has taken the NBA by storm, and it’s not just because of his prior popularity. He is making waves in the league and may be most people’s consensus Rookie of the Year.
One of the people who are high on LaMelo Ball is Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer. O’Connor was asked about young players he’d take over LaMelo Ball, and the list was fairly short, consisting of Luka Doncic, Zion Williamson, and Jayson Tatum. O’Connor also stated that he would take Ball over some of the top young point guards in the game.
Do you agree? @ChrisVernonShow and I will naturally be discussing this opinion on The Mismatch this Friday. https://t.co/8DFkD2r7n2

LaMelo Ball is certainly an exciting prospect, but Ja Morant and Trae Young are some solid competition. Ja Morant is an amazing athlete and playmaker, while Trae Young is a score-first point guard who can carry an offense. Both are elite players. However, neither of their teams is a top 8 seed, while LaMelo Ball’s Hornets are currently the 7th seed in the Western Conference.
It remains to be seen whether LaMelo Ball will surpass Trae Young and Ja Morant in the future. His combination of size and skill is certainly unique, and hopefully, LaMelo Ball can get even better than he already is.
