NBA Rumors: Kyle Lowry Apparently Will Be Traded Today

It seems like Kyle Lowry’s tenure with the Toronto Raptors is coming to an end today before the trade deadline strikes. A lot of teams around the league are expected to make moves today and the Raptors are not the exception. We saw them parting ways with Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Chris Bosh, and DeMar DeRozan in the past but now they could be saying goodbye to their greatest player of all time.

Lowry and the Raptors beat the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday with a 135-111 win at Amalie Arena and everything we saw after the game suggests that the Philadelphia native is about to leave the franchise that was his home for the last nine years. After the game was over, Lowry said that the atmosphere and mood were different for him. He usually jokes around in post-game interviews but yesterday was just different.

I’mma be honest. Usually I bullshit y’all, but tonight was kinda weird” with deadline buzz and uncertainty. Of course, it woulda been crazier if it was in Toronto.”

“The story (him & Toronto) is not complete… With that being said, I don’t know, truthfully. I don’t know what I want. I just know that I’ve given a lot and I’ll continue to give my all.”

“I truly miss the fans, the atmosphere, the energy” and Romeo the security guard,” Lowry said, via Blake Murphy.

There was also a moment when global superstar Drake called him during the interview and the pair joked, with the Canadian singer saying he was just a translator.

Nick Nurse also had some things to say about his PG, the guy that helped this team win their first-ever NBA championship two years ago alongside Kawhi Leonard. The coach gave his due respect and called him the greatest Raptor of all time.

“He plays harder than anybody I’ve ever seen.”

“He’ll go down as maybe the greatest Raptor, I think.”

All these things make you believe that this is the end of this chapter between the Raptors and Lowry. Of course, he has shown his desire to retire as a Raptor and he will probably get his wish granted. Even the good things come to an end and this one isn’t the exception. Lowry was very dedicated to his franchise, he tried and tried until he was able to win the championship but now it’s time to look for a different challenge.

The Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and even Los Angeles Lakers have been named as potential landing spots for the point guard. This is one of the biggest sagas ahead of the deadline and now it’s time to see where Kyle is heading next.
