Huawei phones will receive HarmonyOS update in June: Huawei Software Chief
Huawei’s effort in developing the HarmonyOS is not hidden from anyone, as the company is leaving no stone unturned to make this a huge success and conducting HarmonyOS testing through beta programs.
Last month, Huawei expanded the HarmonyOS beta testing for the Huawei Mate series, foldable phone Mate X2, Huawei Smart Screens, and more. These devices now up and running the third beta software build of the HarmonyOS.
Currently, Huawei is running the public beta phase of the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer testing program but there are more users that want to get their hands on this Huawei operating system.
As recently, Wang Chenglu, Huawei Consumer BG Software Engineering Dept President and AI and All-scenario Intelligence Business Unit Director, said that Huawei’s general smartphone users will be able to upgrade with HarmonyOS in the month of June.
From that time, users will have more chances to get their slots in the Huawei HarmonyOS testing. While it’s noted that the first batch of devices likely to get stable HarmonyOS.
However, the Chinese tech giant will increase the number of models in the HarmonyOS testing as well as the adaptation process that will help Huawei to reach more old devices as the installation progress among different Huawei models.
Wang previously stated that Huawei aimed to install HarmonyOS on 200 million devices, maybe more in 2021. More importantly, Hongmeng OS will also be opened for third-party equipment makers that will launch upto 100 million devices with HarmonyOS. Adding all together, the HarmonyOS hardware product base could reach upto 300 to 400 million units in 2021.
