“The Lakers Won’t Get Out Of The West,” Says Skip Bayless

Fresh off their 2020 Championship victory, the Los Angeles Lakers have no plans to slow down now. With the second half of the 2021 campaign finally underway, their mission to repeat as Champions continues — and, to many, they’re still the favorites to win the West.

For FOX Sports’ Skip Bayless, however, he doesn’t see the Purple and Gold repeating the same success they had last year.

“The Clippers are even better than they were a year ago,” Bayless said on UNDISPUTED. “I’m holding back. I’m trying to lessen the pressure on them. Because they are poised to get even with the Lakers. The Lakers won’t get out of the West.”

Obviously, the Clippers had an insanely and border-line embarrassing performance in the 2020 playoffs, losing in the second round after taking a 3-1 series lead over Denver. With that chip on their shoulder, experience together, and several new acquisitions to the roster, this Clippers team may not be the same one we saw back then.

But are they really good enough to overthrow the Purple and Gold? LeBron James and Anthony Davis will certainly pose a challenge, and they clearly have no intentions of going down easily.

Ultimately, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens…
