NBA Rumors: Blazers "Likely" To Fire Head Coach Terry Stotts

Despite having, arguably, their best roster since the start of the Damian Lillard era, the Portland Trail Blazers have been pretty underwhelming this season.

In the month of April, the team dropped 10 of 15 games in a stretch that included a 5-game losing streak.

Needless to say, the Blazers aren't quite where they want to be, and it seems the front office is prepared to respond.

Portland has plunged steeply in April, having dropped 10 of 15 games and stationed in play-in territory as the No. 7 seed. It’s a disheartening period that will likely end up costing coach Terry Stotts his job, a position he’s held for nearly a decade.

Accountability, ingenuity, doing away with granting everyone offensive freedom and a fresh voice roaming the sidelines might be in order, but the team’s struggles extend beyond X’s and O’s.

Stotts has served as head coach for Portland for years now, and his tenure has included both extreme highs and devastating lows.

But with Lillard on the downside of 30, time is running out to make use of his talents.

With so much at stake, the Blazers might feel like a coaching change is necessary. Of course, it will take a whole lot more than that to truly fix this team.
