10 Years Ago, Nobody Thought Steph Curry Could Catch Ray Allen On All-Time Three-Pointers List: "No One In The League Right Now Could Do It."

Stephen Curry is widely recognized as the greatest shooter in NBA history. A 7x All-Star, 7x All-NBA player, 2x MVP, and 3x Champion, Curry has mastered the art of long-distance shooting in ways never seen before. 

10 years ago, however, Steph was still relatively unknown as a player. In fact, his growth over the past decade has reflected just how much the league has changed since Curry's rise to power.

Recently, Sports Center took a look back in time, before Curry and his Warriors ruled the NBA. Back then, Ray Allen was basketball's best shooter, and fans struggled to picture Steph, or anyone else for that matter, ever surpassing the legacy he left behind.

It can be easy to forget how good Ray Allen was. He played for four different teams throughout his 18-year career, making 10 All-Star appearances and winning 2 Championships. He made 2,973 three-pointers on an impressive 40% shooting.

He also saved the Miami Heat from almost certain defeat in Game 6 of the 2013 Finals.

Back then, it was hard to fathom anybody being a better shooter than him, especially a small, baby-faced point guard from Davidson.

Nevertheless, Curry would shock the world with his run -- which is still happening today. After leading the Warriors to their first title in 2015, Dub Nation became the epitome of basketball success and they'd go on to win three Championships before the departure of Kevin Durant.

After a few down years, the Warriors are right back at the top of the food chain. They're first in the West, 19-3 on the season, and have looked better than they've ever been.

Regarding Curry, he's having another MVP season with averages of 27.6 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game on 44.9% shooting. He's 2nd on the All-Time list with 2,946 made threes in total. He's just 28 makes away from surpassing Allen for that top spot.
