Devin Booker was heartbroken when Kobe Bryant passed away. He even wore a commemorative jacket to pay respect to his greatest icon and the guy who inspired his game.

That's why he was very emotional last night when he knocked down the Los Angeles Lakers to win his first playoff series.

When asked about the feeling, he claimed that he felt Kobe's presence in the building last night, and that inspired him to follow his advice of "being legendary"

"Honestly, I was thinking about Kobe and the conversations we had... Being legendary and taking the steps to get there... I know he was in the building tonight. I know he’s proud," Booker said after the game.

Booker has been on a tear since the start of the playoffs and he continues to elevate his game when his team needs him the most. He was just ruthless vs. the Lakers and the sky is the limit for him.

Kobe's guidance and mentorship can be felt all around the league nowadays. He left a permanent mark in the next generation of NBA players and they'll keep his legacy alive forever.

It's still ironic that Booker had to unleash his inner Black Mamba vs the Lakers, the team that Kobe played for throughout his entire career.

Then again, being the competitor he was and being a fan of Booker's game, we can rest assured that he was giving him two thumbs up last night.

Hopefully, Booker will embrace the Mamba Mentality for the rest of the playoffs as well. The job's not done, so it's time to move on to the next one and focus in the Denver Nuggets.
