The New York Knicks’ 2020/21 NBA season came to an end on Wednesday night after a 103-89 defeat at Madison Square Garden. However, their season developed a lot better than expected, clinching the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference while becoming the best defense in the league.

However, the playoffs arrived, and with them, Trae Young brought madness to New York. The talented point guard was a nightmare for the New Yorkers, doing what everybody expected Julius Randle to do. The former Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans player entered the postseason as the Most Improved Player of the year, surrounded by many expectations.

He didn’t live up to the hype, as the Knicks only won one game in the series. After Game 5 was over, Randle said he was disappointed that things ended this way, but he’s confident the team will be back stronger.

“We’re bringing a brand of basketball back that the city can be proud of,” Randle said, via The New York Times. “We have something to build on for the future.”

“It’s tough for me to process that right now the way things ended, but we’ll be back,” he said.

The Knicks have a very good core of players but most of them will become free agents this season. However, the front office can bring some assets back while landing franchise-altering players. They have everything to remain competitive in the league but their fans hope they don’t blow this chance.
