LeBron James Looked Demoralized vs. Suns Again: He Wasn't Interested In Defending In the 2nd Quarter

LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers suffered a humiliating defeat against the Phoenix Suns in Game 5 of their first-round playoffs series. The purple and gold started the game attacking the Suns and took an early lead before the home team took over.

Chris Paul and co. displayed their best game, sweeping the Lakers off the court early in the game. The 1st quarter finished with an 8-point advantage for the Suns, but the 2nd one was a nightmare for the visitors. The Lakers only scored 10 points, while the Suns dropped 32.

The images were terrible. The purple and gold looked lifeless, with no desire to win, and even LeBron James' body language let people know that this would be a long night for the Lakers.

In the 2nd quarter, while the Suns lead the game 58-32, Bron wasn't even trying to hustle for rebounds. He didn't even look interesting in going back to defend, making things easier for his rivals.

This attitude is similar to what we saw in Game 4 of the series. During the last quarter, James gave up on his team after Dennis Schroder missed a crucial layup

If this wasn't enough, LeBron headed to the locker room with five minutes on the clock.

The picture doesn't look promising for the Lakers after this 115-85 loss. They missed Anthony Davis in Game 5, and even with Anthony Davis back in Game 6, the Suns demonstrated they are a real threat to the 2020 NBA champions.

A lot needs to change for tomorrow's game. It's a win-or-go-home match for the purple and gold, and they need to rise to the challenge.
