2021 NBA Draft: Detroit Pistons To Pick Cade Cunningham With No. 1 Overall Selection, Per Adrian Wojnarowski

It's time for Cade Cunningham to shine in the NBA and the Detroit Pistons are ready to give him that chance. Motor City has the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft, and they're reportedly ready to land the Oklahoma State’s standout tonight.

Cade is considered the best player of this year's class after a terrific showcase in college. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the organization is locked to draft Cunningham and make him their franchise player.

"The Detroit Pistons have landed on a decision to select Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham with the No. 1 pick in tonight’s NBA Draft," Wojnarowski tweeted.

Pistons officials met with Cade in New York to make a final decision, ultimately agreeing to select him as the 2021 first overall pick.

"Detroit officials traveled to New York on Wednesday, met with Cunningham a final time and finalized the decision to choose him at No.1 in meetings this morning."

Still, this might not be the end of this situation. The Pistons are open to hear trade offers and see what they can get in exchange for the guard. However, if they ended up having the pick when the draft clock starts, they're getting Cunningham.

This could be a terrific night for them. We are in front of a potential generational talent that can take the franchise to the next level. He's expected to have the most significant impact this season, and the Pistons can start building something great with their young core.
