As it happens most of the time, Team USA enters the Olympics tournament as the heavy favorite to take home the gold. It couldn't be another way, as this team features nothing but the creme of the crop in the world of basketball.

This time, Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum, Kevin Love, Jerami Grant, Zach LaVine, Bam Adebayo, Jrue Holiday, Draymond Green, and Khris Middleton will lead the way for the Americans, putting together yet another Dream Team.

That's why LeBron James tipped his hat off to his compatriots trying to bring the gold home, taking to Twitter to shout them out ahead of the competition:

"Damn I love this @usabasketball Men’s Senior Team this summer. Good luck fellas!" James tweeted.

LeBron sure knows one thing or two about thriving at this stage, as he was a usual member of the Olympics roster. Then again, as the sunset of his career is approaching, he's not likely to make the team in the future, as per Jerry Colangelo:

“You know, Father Time takes its toll. … If you’re a human being, your body is built to go so long depending on what your sport is, and then it’s a downhill situation. LeBron made choices these last couple of Olympics not to participate because he’s got a lot of things going on in his life. So he put in his time, he made a contribution that is appreciated, but I think his time is over,” Colangelo said, as we previously reported.

LeBron James or not, Team USA is heavily favored and for very good reasons, but they'll have to live by that status on the court and not be overconfident against the best teams on the planet.
