Ever since he called himself 'Playoff P', Paul George's reputation went south. He underperformed in the postseason and failed to be at his best despite being one of the best two-way players in the league.

And, aside from a couple of mistakes, it's fair to say that he redeemed himself again this season, as he was the leader of the Los Angeles Clippers when Kawhi Leonard fell with an injury and he was efficient and bold on both ends of the floor.

That's why rising star Ja Morant took to Twitter to defend him after he botched two potential game-winning free-throws against the Phoenix Suns:

“mfs be quick to talk about PG," Morant had tweeted earlier in the playoffs.

The Clippers wouldn't have even had the chance to beat the Suns if it wasn't for Paul George in the first place, so even if he failed, the criticism was uncalled for.

Morant then took the time to give Paul George his flowers and defend him again from the unfair backlash he's constantly facing:

“As far as me, I am a fan of Paul George. I feel like he’s a special talent and one of the top players in the league. And I feel like he’s showing it night in and night out through the playoffs. I don’t know where all the negative energy comes from but hopefully, he’s got tunnel vision and focus on the most important thing," Morant said in an interview for ESPN.

Maybe, if Paul George had never referred to him as 'Playoff P', he wouldn't constantly be in the spotlight. But nickname or not, denying that he was outstanding in the postseason this year is just being a hater.

George is one of  the best two-way players in the league and there's no doubt that he'll come back from this.
