Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Congratulates Milwaukee Bucks Big Three For Equaling Showtime Lakers Record: "Good To See The Next Generation Continuing To Set Records."
The Milwaukee Bucks are a team that has been doubted. In particular, questions surrounded their big three of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday, and how the team would end up competing in the playoffs.
During Game 5, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday all recorded at least 25 points while shooting 50%. There is no trio that had done that in a Finals game bar the Showtime Lakers trio of Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and James Worthy. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar congratulated the Bucks trio on their accomplishment and wished them luck in Game 6.
There is no doubt that every member of the Milwaukee Bucks big three will have to perform to a high standard for the Bucks to win the Finals. The Phoenix Suns are still a dangerous team, and they have a big three of their own. However, the Milwaukee Bucks have already shown us what they can do when their stars catch fire, and they do have home court going for them in Game 6.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have the opportunity to win the first championship for the franchise since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's 1971 run, which also featured Oscar Robertson. Hopefully, they are up to the challenge, and perhaps we'll see Giannis Antetokounmpo hold up the Larry O'Brien trophy.
