Kyrie Irving Flames Nike For Releasing "Ugly" Kyrie 8's Without His Approval

Nets star Kyrie Irving is one of the best players in the game -- and he's also one of the most controversial.

While Uncle Drew may have the right intentions, the guy doesn't always come off very well to fans, especially when he's talking about conspiracy theories or roasting the media to match his own agenda.

His latest "incident" involves his sponsorship with Nike, the brand he's been signed for most of his career. Apparently, the upcoming release of the "Kyrie 8" has not been approved by Irving, who called the sneakers "ugly" in a comment on Instagram.

"I have nothing to do with the design or marketing of the upcoming #Kyrie8, IMO these are trash!" Irving wrote on Instagram. "I have absolutely nothing to do with them! Nike plans to release it without my okay regardless of what I say, so I apologize in advance to all of my sneaker heads and true supporters of the #KAI11 brand."

There are still a lot of unanswered questions for this whole situation. Why would Nike release these sneakers if Kyrie feels so negative about them? Have they ignored Irving's input for other releases as well?

At this time, we don't know. But it's probably a good idea if they re-think the "Kyrie 8." Since Irving's statement on the kicks, fans have become outraged at Nike for daring to release the shoe in spite of Irving's objections.

At this point, it would probably be better to just postpone the release and change the design completely -- this time, to something that Kyrie and his fans will appreciate.
