NBA Rumors: Charlotte Hornets And New Orleans Pelicans Are Interested In Myles Turner
Myles Turner isn't necessarily viewed as an All-Star caliber player, but his skill set as a center is extremely valuable. Turner is a capable rim protector who can also step out to the perimeter and space the floor on the offensive end. He is also a capable finisher at the rim. Myles Turner is a great stretch 5 who would fit into a lot of contenders' rotations.
There is no question that a lot of teams are interested in Myles Turner ahead of the offseason. It has previously been reported that the Golden State Warriors and the Indiana Pacers have already discussed a trade for Turner. It would make sense for them to add a stretch 5 next to Draymond Green, and Turner's defense would fit into their defensive identity. Two franchises are the latest suitors for Myles Turner. Shams Charania has reported that the Charlotte Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans have both "expressed interest" in the Pacers center.
Both teams could definitely use Turner's services. For the New Orleans Pelicans, this move would likely be about spacing the floor for Zion Williamson, who is one of the best slashers in the league. Myles Turner could definitely fit with the Pelican in a complementary role on offense, while also bolstering their defense. The Charlotte Hornets likely want to get a capable center who can take advantage of LaMelo Ball's playmaking and finish his passes on the interior, while also being able to hit open threes.
There is no question that either of these teams could use a quality center like Turner. However, if reports are correct, they won't be the only teams who are vying for his services. Myles Turner is a very good player: he is an elite defender who is also able to do the essentials for a center on the offensive end. It remains to be seen which team Turner ends up going to, but there's no shortage of interest.
