NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls Could Acquire Derrick Rose In Free Agency
Derrick Rose is a Chicago Bulls legend. During the 2010-11 season, Rose was named the youngest MVP in the history of the game, and it is clear that he was in the process of becoming a bonafide superstar. However, most of us know about his tragic injury, and how he was never able to reach that level again.
Despite the fact that Derrick Rose is no longer an MVP caliber player, he could still be a great contributor on a team as a 6th man, and he'd be a quality starter as well. Rose notably helped the New York Knicks break their playoff drought this season, reuniting with Coach Thibodeau after the New York Knicks traded for him.
It is clear that Rose's veteran leadership and playoff experience could be useful to a lot of teams. One of those teams is the Chicago Bulls. While they have some solid pieces such as Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, one of the things that many have lamented is the lack of a point guard who can facilitate the offense and be a playmaker. It seems as though the Chicago Bulls could bring back Derrick Rose to improve their team, and Adrian Wojnarowski touted Chicago as a potential destination for Rose in free agency.
Derrick Rose is another name in Chicago. I don't think that he's necessarily at the top of their priority list. But if he doesn't return to New York, is there a role for Derrick Rose in Chciago?
There's no doubt that it'd be fun for a lot of fans if Derrick Rose returned to the city and the franchise where he made his name. A lot of Chicago fans still have love for Rose, and seeing him come back and potentially help the team make it back to the playoffs would be amazing. While there will likely be a lot of options for Rose in free agency, it seems as though there is a scenario where the Bulls welcome him back to Chicago.
