The Miami Heat were eliminated in the first round by the Milwaukee Bucks just one season after they made the NBA Finals. It is clear that this is not the outcome that the Heat wanted, and now they have to go back to the drawing board to improve their roster. During the 2020-21 playoffs, the Miami Heat struggled with getting consistent scoring from the roster, and it seems as though finding some more offense should be a priority in free agency.

Kyle Lowry has been linked to the Miami Heat in the past, and the 6-time All-Star would certainly help their scoring woes, while also being able to take on some of the playmaking duties on the roster. While the Miami Heat may target Lowry when free agency happens, there is the obvious possibility of Lowry deciding to go elsewhere. If that does happen, it is clear that the team would look at other options.

Spencer Dinwiddie is a player that could be in the conversation to join the Miami Heat if they miss out on Kyle Lowry. Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald have reported the news, and it is easy to see how Spencer Dinwiddie's shot creation and defense could be a good fit with the team.

According to a source, [Brooklyn] Nets impending unrestricted free agent point guard Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to be among the players of interest to Miami if the Heat doesn’t land Lowry.

On the Miami Heat, Spencer Dinwiddie would likely get a starting role and him teaming up with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo would certainly be interesting. While Spencer Dinwiddie has been out for a large portion of this season due to an ACL injury, during the 2019-20 season he averaged 20.6 PPG and 6.8 APG. It remains to be seen whether the Miami Heat will get Spencer Dinwiddie, and it has been reported that he is interested in going to a Los Angeles team, whether it be the Los Angeles Lakers or the Los Angeles Clippers. If the Miami Heat do get him, then he will certainly be a great addition.
