Spencer Dinwiddie Says The Nets Would Have Swept The Lakers If Both Teams Were Healthy: "Nets In 4."
Injuries are a normal part of the sports world, and the NBA is no exception. Every year, title hopes are squashed for teams who have to watch their star player go down.
This season, seemingly more than ever before, the league was ravaged by these injuries, and it's safe to say it changed the trajectory of the entire season.
And perhaps no two teams have reflected that fact more than the Lakers and Nets, who have been forced to endure multiple stretches without their best players.
While both teams have been eliminated from title contention, Brooklyn's Spencer Dinwiddie made a bold claim on Twitter, suggesting that his team would have swept the Lakers had both rosters been at full strength.
Of course, it's hard to argue that the Nets don't have the best roster in the league. Between Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving, their "Big Three" stands as the last remaining superteam in basketball.
But LeBron James and Anthony Davis have proven their power before, capturing the 2020 Championship in a very challenging and unorthodox season.
In the end, there's no real way for us to know what would have happened had these two teams met up in these Finals. Maybe we'll find out for sure next season.
Here's to hoping...
