Rajon Rondo is returning to the Los Angeles Lakers after a couple of entertaining weeks. Last season, the veteran point guard played with the Atlanta Hawks before getting traded to the Los Angeles Clippers to help the Californians win a championship.

He couldn't do it, and the Clips traded him to Memphis. The Grizzlies decided to waive Rondo over the weekend, with the Los Angeles Lakers looking like the favorites to land the 2x NBA champion.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Rondo is returning to the Lakers on a one-year deal. This is what the Lakers have done this offseason after landing Russell Westbrook to create a Big 3 with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Lakers superstar trio will take most of the cap space for the next season, with the rest of the roster signing mid-level and minimum deals. Rondo now belongs to the second group after agreeing to a $2.6 million contract.

Rajon was part of the Lakers team that won the championship in the Orlando bubble last year. He will try to help the squad again next season.
