Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Opens Up On LeBron James Potentially Breaking His All-Time Points Record: “We’ll Be Right There To Cheer Him On”

Even though he has all the records and accolades to back it up, not many people often talk about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar potentially being the greatest player of all time.

Kareem won at every level, holds the record for most MVPs (6) was the oldest MVP in NBA history and holds the all-time record for most points scored all-time (38.387).

Sadly for him, that longstanding accolade we just mentioned will stop being his rather sooner than later, as LeBron James is currently on pace to become the league's all-time leading scorer.

Kareem, however, is unbothered by LeBron's imminent milestone, and he recently told Marc Stein that he would be right there to cheer for him when that happens.

Abdul-Jabbar is one of the greatest players in the history of basketball, a guy who helped the Los Angeles Lakers become the biggest powerhouse in the league, and a caring person who's never been selfish enough to be bothered about that stuff.

All Kareem will ever want is for the Lakers to succeed, so he'll obviously be glad to witness LeBron James make basketball history after so many years.

Right now, the King only needs to average roughly 18 points per game to surpass Kareem in the next couple of seasons, something that sounds pretty easy considering he's averaged 27 per his career.

LeBron is one of the most durable athletes in the world, so even if he's getting older, we can fully expect him to be one of the best players two years from now.

Barring injury, it's only a matter of time before James takes yet another record to his name. Gladly, he'll have one of the biggest NBA legends of all time in the standings ready to congratulate him. That's what sports are all about.
