Ben Simmons has been in the news quite a lot in recent memory, mostly in regards to what seems like an impending trade from the Philadelphia 76ers. While there have been some reports about the Philadelphia 76ers potentially keeping Ben Simmons until training camp, that may no longer be an option.

Kendrick Perkins of ESPN has recently stated that there's "no repairing" the relationship between the Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons. Perkins states that Ben Simmons was a pro even if he received a "half a**ed commitment from the team", and that Ben Simmons' time in Philadelphia is done.

There is no doubt that bringing Ben Simmons to training camp would have been a good move if he were still willing to play for the team. That would allow Ben Simmons to play up his value, and give both him and the team more flexibility in picking a destination that suits everyone. However, it definitely seems as though that will not be the case.

While Ben Simmons did disappoint in the playoffs, his position here is fairly easy to understand. He's been a prominent name in trade rumors, and it seems to be an open secret that he was being shopped around the league. We also know that the fans aren't very fond of him after what happened in the playoffs. It makes sense that he wouldn't want to come back to such an environment, and perhaps it's best for both him and the team that they part ways with one another.

It remains to be seen which team Ben Simmons ends up going to, and there seem to be plenty of suitors for the disgruntled star. Hopefully, Ben Simmons will be able to go to a team that puts him in the position to achieve success and help him reach the potential that many see in him.
