The Brooklyn Nets missed their grand goal of winning a championship last season, despite the best efforts of Kevin Durant, who brought them within one game of making the Eastern Conference Finals. Their big three of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving are lethal, and there's no doubt that they are viewed as the favorite for the East once again.

While star power is an important factor in winning championships, another important part of winning is depth. You have to make good moves to surround your stars with quality role players. The moves around the fringes are just as important. According to a recent report, it seems as though the Brooklyn Nets are in trade talks to make the team better.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype has recently reported that the Brooklyn Nets have dangled DeAndre Jordan and a first-round pick swap in trade talks. While the report doesn't mention specific teams that would be interested in such a package, it definitely seems as though the Nets have at the very least engaged in conversations with teams around that package.

Multiple sources told HoopsHype that the Nets have offered DeAndre Jordan and a first-round pick swap in trade talks.

There have also been previous reports that suggested DeAndre Jordan won't be on the Brooklyn Nets when training camp rolls around. However, it remains to be seen if he ends up getting traded, or agreeing to a buyout. DeAndre Jordan averaged 7.5 PPG and 7.5 RPG while shooting 76.3% from the field. Those are solid enough offensive numbers for a role player, and even if his defense has declined a little bit, he does provide value with his rebounding.

If DeAndre Jordan does get a buyout, he has been linked with potentially joining the Los Angeles Lakers. It remains to be seen if he does get bought out, and it's likely that the Brooklyn Nets would prefer to find a trade partner for the center if possible.
