Luka Doncic And NBA 2K Foundation Have Refurbished His Childhood Basketball Courts In Ljubljana, Slovenia
A lot of NBA athletes are known for giving back and being actively involved within the communities where they grew up. There's no doubt that once you make it to the mountaintop that is the NBA, it must feel nice to give back. Luka Doncic has been the latest player to make a contribution to his hometown of Ljubljana in Slovenia.
The Dallas Mavericks Twitter account has recently revealed that Luka Doncic has re-furbished his childhood basketball courts, where he "learned and practiced" his basketball skills. There is no doubt that basketball can be a great way for kids to spend time, and Luka Doncic's generosity will certainly be put to use by many people from the community.
Luka Doncic also spent some time interacting with people from his hometown, signing shoes, taking autographs, and doing some shooting around of his own. There is no doubt that Luka Doncic is already viewed as a legend in his Ljubljana, and this will only further endear him to the town. It is good to see athletes like Luka Doncic still interacting with regular people while having fun. Luka Doncic offered a statement of his own about his partnership with 2K Foundations on the courts on Twitter and got a shout-out from Ronnie 2K for being a good partner.
There is no question that Luka Doncic has had a busy offseason, even aside from this venture. Right after finishing his 7-game series against the Los Angeles Clippers, he rushed off to play in the Olympics for the Slovenian national team. He was a key force during the Olympics, even if Slovenia did not end up with a medal in the end. However, he also had some fun during his vacation, notably hanging out with famous chef "Salt Bae" earlier in the summer. Hopefully, Luka Doncic comes back rejuvenated to the regular season and can have a good year with the Dallas Mavericks.
