You don't have to be an expert to tell that the Detroit Pistons landed a true gem in Cade Cunningham.

He's big, strong, talented, and is the kind of player who doesn't seem to make many mistakes.

Of course, as it happens to every rookie, some growing pains are to be expected during his first couple of seasons in the league, but it seems like he's already making a positive impact on the locker room.

As a matter of fact, his teammate Saddiq Bey recently lauded his leadership, claiming that he's a good guy to be around and a natural leader:

"He is a great young leader. You can tell he has that leadership quality about him, and it's natural. He doesn't force it. It's great to be around as a young guy," Bey said.

The Pistons nave how one of the most promising and interesting rosters around the Association.

Besides the aforementioned Saddiq Bey and Cade Cunningham, they also have Killian Hayes, Isaiah Stewart, and Jerami Grant as their franchise cornerstones going forward.

Of course, it'll take a lot of time before this roster fulfills its potential and is able to make a playoff run, but coach Dwayne Casey is great at developing talent and they'll get there when they're ready.

As for Cunningham, he's drawn comparisons to LeBron James, Magic Johnson, and Grant Hill. Obviously, living up to those expectations is going to be nearly impossible, but he's got untapped potential and the upside to be a generational player.

That's why it's so nice to see that, besides being a great all-around player on the court, he's also trying to make his teammates better. That's what you'd want out of the first-overall pick.
