Lakers Fans Call For Team To Fire Frank Vogel After Loss To Knicks: "He Needs To Go..."
This season has been a complete mess for the 17x NBA Champions.
Despite having one of the best rosters in the league, with three MVP-caliber players on their squad at once, the team struggled out of the gate to establish their chemistry and have been unable to stay afloat in the games that LeBron James has missed.
In yet another loss against a beatable team on Tuesday, Lakers fans showed their frustration after the game, choosing to blame head coach Frank Vogel on the state of their performance:
It's always easy for fans to point the finger at the coach when the team isn't doing well. For a team like the Lakers, who have ultra-high expectations, there's even more pressure on a coach.
Unfortunately, the Lakers' problems go much deeper than Frank Vogel. As former Celtics star Paul Pierce recently said, it could be the makeup of the roster that is the true problem. If LeBron James has to carry a heavy load, at this stage of his career, it will only end in disaster.
"They look bad right now. I don't know if they can stay healthy... I don't think they have a chance. The way they playing without LeBron at his age. LeBron can't play 40 minutes like he can and get them through the regular season. If you're asking him to continue to do that and get to the playoffs and carry them, I do not know if that's possible all the way through. This team as constructed cannot win a championship," Pierce said.
Whether it's bad coaching, bad chemistry, or bad luck, the Lakers have to start turning things around soon, or they might get too far behind.
In a Conference with teams like the Warriors, Suns, and Jazz, L.A. can't afford to lose homecourt advantage in the postseason.
Fortunately, there's still plenty of time left to go.
