Stephen Curry's Golden State Warriors played in the NBA playoffs for eight consecutive years from 2013, reaching the Finals from 2015-2019 and winning three titles. Sadly, things took a wrong turn for the franchise as injuries prevented them from reaching the playoffs for the last two seasons.

The Warriors are on an incredible 18-2 run and are back to being championship contenders. But Stephen Curry has given an insight into how he felt for the last two years.

Speaking to Yahoo Sports after the 105-90 win against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center, Curry said:

“We all know how the industry works and how the business works. You have to win to get the attention. Even just looking out at the arena, the atmosphere is different. We’re traveling heavier now. It's a different energy around what we do. People probably don't believe this, but I never got too high on that sauce during our five-year run and I never got too low on it either. You’re just riding those waves. For me, it’s about motivation. We just want to win and we understand what comes with it and we want to be in that situation more than anything else because we've experienced that and we know how much fun it is.”

The Warriors are currently the rave of the moment, and the ambiance surrounding the team is different. But there were lows in the organization, as the players had to sit out of a competition they dominated for so long. Curry spoke on how he felt not being able to participate in the 2020 Orlando bubble.

“Watching the bubble was the lowest point of those two years. There was a part of me that felt it was nice to get refreshed, and a part of me really missed playing on that stage. That was the first time in seven years of not being in the playoffs. We know each player had their own experiences in the bubble, but I would have loved to have been there competing. I would say that was the lowest point in terms of my basketball experience because I felt so far away from it. This is what I love to do.”

As things stand, the Warriors have the best record in the Western Conference and are ranked No. 1 in defensive rating. Little is going wrong for the Warriors as they have maintained efficiency on both ends of the floor.

Led by Curry, the team will travel to the Valley to take on the streaking Phoenix Suns on Tuesday in the first of a back-to-back for the Warriors. The Suns have won 16 straight games, which will make this matchup an intriguing watch.

Stephen is currently tied with Kevin Durant for most points per game with 28.6 points. His three-point shooting has been sensational, as he has made 105 three-pointers in 19 games. Added to his 28.6-point average are 5.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
