Huawei Mate 50 RS Porsche Design to not feature new Kirin 9000 chipset
A tip has just arrived that revealed that the Huawei Mate 50 series may not feature a new Kirin 9000 chipset. The tipster has .shown that the latest developments are clear signs of less quantity of the Kirin chipsets in the inventory.
A tipster from Weibo – Pandaisbald has revealed that the rumor of Huawei Mate 50 RS Porche Design featuring Kirin 9000s is not true. On the other hand, Huawei is running out of Kirin 9000 series chipsets.
Previous reports suggest that Huawei was testing Mate 50 test version with a Kirin 9000 chipset, an image of such a test has been leaked to assure this arrival. However, the tipster didn’t mention, whether the entire series will exclude the use of Kirin 9000s or only the Mate 50 RS.
Furthermore, there’s no status information about Kirin 9000s in the current scenario. However, the tipster emphasized that Huawei Mate 50 series launch is earlier than what we could expect it to be. Previous input reveals that Huawei could launch this new flagship device in September.
Snapdragon:
Similar to the previous generation, Huawei could include Mate 50 RS in the Mate 50 lineup. This counts the overall lineup to consist:
- Huawei Mate 50
- Huawei Mate 50 Pro
- Huawei Mate 50 RS Porsche Design
As Huawei may currently opt-out from a Pro+ variant.
Yet, Huawei is moving on a partnership with Qualcomm and the Chinese tech maker is now heavily using Snapdragon chipsets on its device. While the same scenario is likely to happen with Mate 50 series.
Kirin 9000:
Launched with Mate 40 series in 2020, the Kirin 9000 series comes in two variants – Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E. These two are built with TSMCs 5nm technology and comes with octa-core architecture – Octa-core, 1 x Cortex-A77 at 3.13 GHz + 3 x Cortex-A77 at 2.54 GHz + 4 x Cortex-A55 at 2.05 GHz.
The chipset also has a 24-core Mali-G78 GPU and a dual NPU unit – Dual Big Core + Tiny Core NPUs (Neural-network Processing Unit)
