Luka Doncic and his Dallas Mavericks are getting ready to face a new NBA season where they'll try to make a statement in a stacked Western Conference that will have the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Denver Nuggets trying to play in the Finals.

The Mavs aren't less than these teams, and they are expected to put up a good fight to play in their first NBA Finals since 2011. The Texan team knows they'll have a huge competition to win it all, but as long as they have Luka, things will be fine for them.

Following a season where they traded for Spencer Dinwiddie and an offseason where they landed Christian Wood and JaVale McGee, the Warriors have renewed hopes to compete for the championship.

Luka Doncic Says Dallas Mavericks Aim To Win The NBA Championship Every Season

Fans are already excited to see how good things look for the Mavericks right now, and after learning about Luka's expectations not only this but every season, they will feel really happy about having the Slovenian point guard with them. Talking on NBATV, Luka revealed what's the goal for the Mavs this season.

“Our goal every year is to win a championship,” the Slovenian superstar said. “That was our goal last season, that’s our goal this season. But I think we got a little more of respect around the league. I think we have a great team. We just got to believe.”

Last season, Dallas reached the Western Conference Finals for the first time since Dirk Nowitzki took them to the Finals in 2011. Luka willed them to that big series after demolishing the Phoenix Suns in an unforgettable Game 7 for the Mavs, who destroyed the Arizonans from start to finish.

Stephen Curry and his Golden State Warriors were too much for Luka, but the Mavericks had a taste of what it feels like to be close to playing in the Finals. They'll try to return to that round and have better luck. With Luka leading the charge, they'll have a big opportunity. Still, the rest of the West will have a say in that, as many teams look poised to dethrone the Warriors on their way to the Finals.
