New HPM6700 processor uses OpenHarmony

Recently, China’s Xianji Semiconductor Technology has completed HPM6700 processor development and has merged it with the OpenHarmony operating system. This thoughtful integration will bring new scopes and services for the developers and operators.

OpenHarmony is already serving in many fields at the moment. But, it’s time to expand its usage to more sectors. Consequently, the HPM6700 processor will help the OpenHarmony system in achieving new targets in the industrial sector.

Speaking of the new development, HPM6700 is a series of MCU (Micro Controller Units. It is a high-performance real-time RISC-V chip that offers the ultimate computing power to the tech-pack mechanisms.

Further, it provides an efficient controlling ability and rich multimedia tools for industrial operations and edge computing applications. For instance, mining, automotive electronics, the Internet of Things, new energy, and more.

HPM6700 processor – Major components

Shanghai Xianji cooperation has forged a variety of crucial parts in the ultimate HPM6700 chip series. The respective processor features RISC-V cores. These cores support dual precision and DSP extensions with a primary frequency of 816MHz.

It also has a 32kb high0-speed L1 cache, local memory, and 1MB built-in SRAM. Together, these elements prevent performance loss due to low-speed external memory. In DMIPS performance, it outperforms 9000 CoreMark and 4500 CoreMark.

Core components

Apart from the external and internal memory, the HPM6700 development board also comprises a 2D graphics display system, high-speed USB, Gigabit Ethernet, information security modules, real-time encryption and decryption functions, and more.

These elements provide better efficiency to the operators in performing computing-related tasks. Moreover, developers can get quick access to the new high-performance chips with the OpenHarmony system.

Earlier, Xianji Semiconductor technology pushed off the HPM6750 to the OpenHarmony operating system. The integration was quite successful and helped many developers to access new OpenHarmony features.

With the HPM6700 high-performance chip series, the developers will be able to work in the mining, and controlling fields more conveniently.
